Hoyer Guitars                                                               Latest Update 3/27/2008
Historical Information and Links

We created this webpage to keep track of photographs of various Hoyer guitars we found on the internet. We've discovered that there isn't a great deal of information about the Arnold Hoyer Guitar Company, and the different models they made, on the internet. That's not to say there are not guitar history books, or actual company catalogs, in print somewhere. We just haven't found their contents posted on the internet. This could be a project for someone with a scanner, and time.

We personally don't have details about the all different guitar models Arnold Hoyer made. We have an idea that there were some original designs, (solidbody) and that there were guitars with "Gibson-like" bodies. (Flying-V

A few years ago,  Mario Pellarin bought the name "Hoyer," and began manufacturing, and selling, new Hoyer guitars. We were told that he did not get very many records from the old Arnold Hoyer Guitar Company. Too many years had passed, and the records were just gone. Mr. Pellarin no longer lists new Hoyer guitars for sale on his website. AMC Compernass Music Trade is the company currently selling new Hoyer guitars.

Do you own a Hoyer Guitar?
If you do, would you be interested in sharing photographs of it? We could add a link to your webpage, or we could host the photographs on our server space. Email:  gms [at] grimfacts [dot] org

The guitar was given to a part-time luthier for restoration in Spring 2006. He began removing the old lacquer, and never finished. We recovered the guitar in October 2007. As you can see, the neck was removed, and some of the lacquer was scrapped away. We have recovered all of the parts, except for the neck screws and the neck plate. We are going to repair the guitar, and there will be more photos when we are done.
